There will be a tuck shop available for refreshments - please support it. VERY IMPORTANT: We will be doing the drawsheets prior to the competition. Entries (names, details and entry fees)must be in by the closing date to allow us adequate time to do them. This means draws are based on ages and belt levels of the competitors. Size/height will not be factored into the draws. Ages will be based on the year of their birth, not the day date. No discussion will be entered into in this regard and late entries will not be accepted. GENERAL: Please note the following general information:
Mitts and Gumguards: These are compulsory at all competitions, not just this one. These may be ordered from your dojo head. Students must have their own mitts and gumguards. They will not be permitted to share with other students as this slows down the tournament. Gumguards may only be clear. PLEASE NOTE THAT MITTS FROM SPORTS SHOPS ARE NOT PERMITTED, THEY HAVE TO BE JKA REGULATION MITTS.
Karateka must wear a full karate suit – i.e. proper gi top and pants and belt. Names to be clearly visible on the lapel. No t-shirts will be permitted. No jewellery is permitted, including religious bracelets. These must be removed or covered with tape/plasters.
This tournament is for all karate including the Dinkies. They will be practicing what they will do in the dojo.
JKA Kumite (fighting) rules will apply with different fighting times for different ages.
Competitors may only leave when the medals for their division have been issued. Even if they did not win a medal - this is a basic courtesy. We cannot guarantee times for the divisions so please consider this an all-day event. Parents who are unable to spend the day are welcome to send their child with their instructors and they can call you when they are finished.
Drawsheets will be placed on the walls on the day – we request that you check them carefully to ensure that you/your child is in the correct division.
For any further details please contact your dojo head. We look forward to seeing you all there. Entry fees must be paid at the time of completing this entry form. This may be done via the secure Payfast portal - link below. Please ensure that the email used on the payment matches the email on the entry form.
